See what others have to say about their experience with Canoe Adventures Riverland.
Having hired kayaks from Canoe Adventures in Berri, our morning sojourn on the Murray River was the highlight of our time in the Riverland. Supplied with a map, life jacket and safety instructions, we were pushed off by Kym. Gurra Gurra Creek rang with the sound of nesting Whistling Kites, Yellow Rosellas and Reed Warblers, in particular, as we drifted slowly with the current and a gentle tail wind. We had it all to ourselves. Entering the River, the stunning red cliffs and width of the waterway added contrast. Then into the more intimate entrance to the Ajax Achilles Lakes, flanked by lignum, reeds and towered over by cooba wattles, black box and river red gums. Reluctantly, we returned to reality as we re-entered the River near Lock 4 where Kym was waiting, very patiently, to pull us ashore, load the kayaks and deliver us back to our car. Thank you, it was an uplifting morning.
A must do experience when visiting Berri and the Riverland ! "As newbies who had never kayaked before we were very apprehensive and nervous about taking this tour but Kym reassured us and answered all our queries patiently before we booked the sunset tour with him . He was very kind and encouraging during the tour and we felt very supported and safe even though we had no prior experience of kayaks or canoes . Hubby and I were on a double kayak which we found very stable and convenient for us especially with my plus size / extra weight 🙂 It was an amazing experience and we had a great time on this tour. Karen had even organised a gluten free bar for my hubby as he is a celiac . He was pretty chuffed about it 🙂 We even went and hired kayaks in Renmark the next day and went exploring on our own . Thank you Kim for encouraging and teaching us a new skill. Will surely be back when we visit Berri next time. My suggestion to all newbies would be , just do a guided tour with Kim and you will be safe , supported and have an amazing time exploring our beautiful River Murray ."
Fantastic weekend adventure. Our family of 4 (Children aged 20 and 15) paddled for 22 kms over the weekend, setting up an overnight camp. Kym was fabulous in the hiring the kayaks, local knowledge and set down and pick up points. Prompt communication and very reasonable rates. We would use Kym for our next riverland kayaking adventure.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed the canoes on the Murray river a few weekends ago. They were easy to use, in great condition and Kym was very helpful with maps and tips on where to go. Communication with Kym was great. Couldnt have asked for more. Thank you, will hire your canoes again on our next visit and look forward to doing one of the sunset guided tours. cheers Eugene
This was the highlight of our holiday. A relaxing paddle, all downstream, with a guide to take us through the quiet and shady backwaters. We learnt a lot from Kim about all the birds we saw as well as Murry River water issues. We stopped for an included drink/ coffee / toilet stop. Kim's wife Karen dropped us off and later picked us up down river to take us back to Berri. Thank you Kim and Karen for a wonderful, relaxing, morning.
Amazing Day out on the Murray River with Canoe Adventure Riverland! Our booking was so easy, just met him at the location he gave us and he dropped us back, no time limit, he gave us a comprehensive map and said have fun!!! Which we did in spades! So many amazing birds, hundreds of pelicans, whistling kites, water birds etc! We absolutely loved out day out on the water discovering the mighty Murray River!!!
Great couple of days on the river: "Thanks so much to Kym and Karen! I travelled with a 14, 15 and 16 year old and we had a fabulous time. We started with a beautiful sunrise guided tour with Kym on a surprisingly cool summer morning. What a great way to start the day! We absolutely loved the morning tea stop with all luxuries provided. Lots of informative chat along the way, and even accommodated my dog! The second day we hired canoes and took ourselves off down the river, with a really memorable trip through the lock. We were set up by Karen and felt thoroughly well looked after. Highly recommended and thanks once again. We hope to be back"
Beautiful sunrise, serene environment, friendly and knowledgeable guide. "The sunrise kayak tour was just a treat - millpond like conditions on our departure from Gurra Gurra Lake with a gorgeous sunrise, lovely stop at Murray River NP for tea and biscuits, then another meander down beautiful backwaters to our final landing."
Great day on the water for the entire family: "We booked in for a full day with two double kayaks. Kym dropped them off right on time, was very helpful and gave us everything we needed for a perfect morning on Lake Bonney. Due to a quieter than usual day Kym offered to pick up the kayaks and change location for the afternoon. We had a break for lunch before following him to lock 4 where he talked us through a fantastic route and provided us with a laminated map to ensure we didn’t get lost. We ended up kayaking 10km in total for the day across the two locations. All in all it was a wonderful day, great value for money with above and beyond service from a down to earth company. If you don’t have your own kayaks do yourself a favour and book a couple of these for the day and enjoy some time on the water with your family."
Horizon Christian School has had a long association with Canoe Adventures - Riverland. Throughout this time Kym has always been extremely professional, from his quick responses to inquiries and questions, to the quality of his gear and his instructing. Kym has a fantastic knowledge of the waterways within the Riverland and is well-equiped to set-up a variety of different adventures for you. I have enjoyed getting to know Kym throughout our many camps together and I trust his judgement both when planning a camp and when on the water.
