Sunset Tours
On this one-way trip we launch near Lock Four and paddle through the enchanting Ajax Achilles wetlands, home to kangaroos, pelicans, cormorants, whistling kites and many other native birds. Then out onto the river where we stop for a cuppa to enjoy the colours of sunset lighting up the magnificent Bookpurnong Cliffs. The tour concludes on the still waters of Gurra Gurra Creek, where you can just drift along enjoying the stars and water reflections, or use your head-torch to spot the possums that come out at twilight. With 3 different possible exit points you are under no pressure to "make it to the end" but can paddle at your own pace. Tour includes shuttles to and from your vehicle or accommodation.

Probably not. Capsizes are extremely rare. Occasionally some people's unique paddling style may splash enough water to dampen clothing. We supply dry bags to keep your valuables and jackets dry. Your guide will be taking photos during your tour, so you can keep your camera and phone at home if you wish.
No. There are no crocodiles or alligators in South Australia. Happy paddling!
