High Water Kayak Tour Schedule, 2022

UPDATE 1.12.22 - Although there are no more scheduled High Water Kayak Tours, it is possible that some may be available.  Due to the constant changing of conditions (wind, flow and availability of launch sites) we are constantly reassessing tour availability.  Please keep in touch by phone , close to your required tour date, to see what we can offer.

4.10.22  The high flows on the Murray River at the moment are spilling water out of the main river channel, creating a rare opportunity to experience a flowing floodplain, allowing us to explore along usually-dry creeks, and to float at the top of the creek-banks underneath the mighty Red Gum trees.  Canoe Adventures - Riverland will be taking advantage of this to offer a series of short and longer tours, led by our guide, Kym.

Short Tours

The short tours will start just 5 minutes from Berri, require just an average level of fitness and no previous kayaking experience.  They will be one-way tours, going with the current, exploring a number of wetlands beside the main river.  The tour will include a cuppa break and 2.5 hours of paddling, making the whole experience a 3.5 hour event (approximately).

Due to the constantly changing conditions from week to week (water levels, weather, road closures) tour location and length will only be confirmed a few days prior to the tour.

Currently short tours are scheduled for Sundays on Oct 30th at 1pm, Nov 6th at 1 pm, Nov 13th at 11 am, Nov 20th at 1 pm, and Nov 27th at 11 am.  More tours may become available, depending on conditions at the time.

Long Tours

The long tours will start just 5 minutes from Berri, require an average level of fitness and some previous kayaking experience.  They will be one-way tours, going with the current, following a number of creeks over the floodplain. The tour will include a cuppa break and 4.5 hours of paddling, making the whole experience a 6.5 hour event. (approximately). BYO lunch.

Due to the constantly changing conditions from week to week (water levels, weather, road closures) tour location and length will only be confirmed a few days prior to the tour.

Currently long tours are scheduled for Saturdays at 8am, on 15/10, 29/10, 5/11, 12/11, 19/11, 26/11 and 3/12 ( Tour on 3/12 starts at 7 am) .   More tours may become available, depending on conditions at the time.
