Meet Karen and Kym

Hi, we’re Kym & Karen. We’re both born-and-bred Riverland locals who grew up enjoying fun in the sun and on the water. After a while away for study and work it was great to come home to the Riverland about 25 years ago. We have enjoyed raising our kids in an area that offers so much adventure in beautiful natural surroundings. And we have enjoyed exploring the waterways, and upskilling with a variety of qualifications, experiences, and professional development so you can relax, knowing you’re in safe hands.

Kym has over 20 years experience in volunteer youth work, including scouts and groups for disadvantaged teens. Kym is a qualified flatwater kayak instructor with Paddle Australia. He is registered with the Department for Education and holds a current Working With Children check, and Senior First Aid. His involvement on various local environmental committees has contributed to his extensive understanding of the local waterways.

Karen has 25 years experience in two of the world’s most challenging and rewarding roles – a teacher and a mum. As a registered teacher, she enjoys the flexibility that relief teaching brings. She is in charge of our social media and marketing, and she’s a qualified kayak guide. She also holds senior first aid qualifications
